Sycamore Springs is located on the border of Brown and Nemaha counties. It was an important stop for settlers traveling westward in the 1800’s. By 1880, the mineral water and beautiful scenery around the area became well known, and Sycamore Springs earned a reputation as a health resort, offering “healing waters” for visitors. Over the years, several structures were built to provide accommodations for convalescing guests, but only one remains: the charming 1920’s hotel, an icon from days gone by.
As time passed, Sycamore Springs was developed into a resort, offering camping, picnicking, roller skating, swimming, and other outdoor activities.
