Visitors will see a small family farm centered on producing nutritious, locally grown fruits and vegetables for our customers. We use several different growing methods including ground gardens, container gardens, raised beds, and hoop house production. We also have seasonal offerings in the spring and fall and at Christmas. Our farm includes several varieties of poultry. We will be giving 30 minute tours of the farm at 10am and 2pm each day and can easily accommodate other times as desired. Located in rural Bourbon County, west and north of Fort Scott. From US 54 & 69, 1 1/2 miles west, then 1 3/4 miles north on 205th. Click on the street address above for directions. Hop aboard Dolly the Trolley for a 50-minute narrated tour of Historic Fort Scott, est. in 1842! You will pass by notable points of interest including: * Fort Scott National Historic Site * Downtown Historic District ~ Shops, Restaurants & Entertainment * Historic Mansions * Beautiful 155-acre Gunn Park * US National Cemetery No. 1 * Old Congregational Church * Gordon Parks Museum * Lowell Milken Center for Unsung Heroes * Historic Courtland Hotel A great way to see the sites of the town and learn the history! Tours leave from the Visitor Center, 231 E. Wall St.; $6 adults, $4 children 12 & under; Thursday and Friday 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm; Saturday 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm; Sunday 1pm and 2pm.

Black Dogs Farm is located in rural Bourbon County in the unincorporated town of Garland. Owners, Bryan and Barb Ritter own 80 acres of land and focus on sustainable farming and farmstead lifestyle. They sell free range eggs, lamb, artistic woolen garments and honey from their hives. Watch sheep shearing, fiber demonstration and tour a traditional farm. Tours at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm daily during the BKRT. No admission, but donations appreciated.

We will be processing beef and hogs and would love to show everybody the process behind what we do in our trade. The building also includes an antique shop next door which is beautiful and one of a kind. The tour will last approximately 30-45 minutes. Stop by anytime during retail hours. Thu 8am-5pm, Fri 8am-6pm. (The store is open Sat 9-12, but processing only happens on Thu-Fri.)

Fort Scott Farmers' Market is a farmer driven and run market. The farmers work hard to produce the very finest produce available. We also provide a great venue for community organizations to promote their mission and raise funds. We are focused on fresh, locally produced farm products. Located in front of the historic fort.

Visit the farm, see the animals and enjoy chicken leg lollipops and scotch eggs for a minimal charge. We encourage consumers to know where their food comes from and offer opportunity to see that it is grown in a natural, sustainable way by visiting our farm. This family of six hope to grow their farm to become a place for people to be involved and learn. Tours available at your leisure. Fri 9am-7pm, Sat 8am-1pm.

Tour the interactive Hall of Unsung Heroes museum and park which feature the dramatic and diverse stories of Unsung Heroes whose actions have changed the world. Be sure to sign up for the drawing and a chance to win one of our Unsung Heroes books. 10:00 am, Thu-Sat: Cathy Werling, the author of our Unsung Heroes Children’s Book Series, will give an overview of the series’ featured heroes and share one of her books through a book reading; 1:00 pm, Thu-Sat: A special presentation will be given on "Life in a Jar: The Irena Sendler Project" by, Norm Conard and Megan Felt, two of its creators. Thur-Fri 10am-5 pm, Sat 10am-4 pm.

Flea market and garage sale items, antique gas engines and parts, baked items, homemade pies and lunch menu. Free admission to swap meet. Camping available ($20 per day). Gates open at 8am. Learn more about the fall fiesta that occurs in October at https://pioneerharvestfiesta.com/.

While you're visiting downtown Fort Scott, stop into this charming 1906 historic hotel for a short 15 minute tour with the owners. They are proud of the updates they have made providing modern amenities while preserving many historic features. The hotel is furnished with lots of antiques and decor. In addition to providing lodging, the hotel includes a relaxing spa. Your hosts are Frank and Cheryl Adamson.

Betsy and Davin Reichard run the show at The Lavender Patch Farm. Starting with one lavender plant in 2010 they have grown to over 1,000 plants on their farm located a short distance east of Fort Scott. Walk the fields, talk to the owners and buy home made body, home, culinary, and aromatherapy goods in the gift shop. You'll also have the opportunity to watch various lavender processing demonstrations throughout the day, including lavender distilling (hydrosol/essential oil).

The Pot Pantry is the studio and gallery space of local award-winning clay artist Bobbi Kemna. Pottery classes in Bobbi’s 1800’s rock house are a memorable experience for all ages, individuals and small groups. Bobbi Kemna is available to illustrate her craft on Thu-Fri 12-5pm, Sat 11am-2pm.

Generally the garage sale runs from 8am-5pm both days with some ending at noon. Pick up a listing/map at the Chamber of Commerce or find on our website and Facebook starting Thursday prior to the sale.
